The Education Department has directed government schools to provide consumer education to students to make them aware of consumer rights. The Director General, School Education (DGSE), has written a letter to the district education officer that students must know their rights and duties of consumers.

The department stresses that the information be shared with students during the morning assembly at least once every week. The students will be told about precautions to be taken by consumers while purchasing a product or service, importance and benefits of taking a bill or a cash memo while purchasing a product or service.
