Jalandhar: A project based on composting as a teaching strategy was organised at the Swami Sant Dass Public School. Composting provides a way for waste management. A demonstrative activity made them to take responsibility for their learning as they make decisions, create solutions to problems that interest them. The project had two practice steps. In information part – information was raised among students and in practice step - the process of composting was taught. Students learnt that biological wastes can save our world more than us and now we have more hopes and plans for a better world for the future. TNS

National Cyber Olympiad

Jalandhar: The students of HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School participated in the 17th National Cyber Olympiad under the guidance of Principal Dr Ajay Sareen. The institution endeavoured to impart knowledge to students for holistic development, in order to meet challenges of the competitive world. Students of SSC I and SSC II participated in the Olympiad. Vishesh of SSC I (commerce) and Priya of SSC II (arts) bagged the gold medal. Bhanvi of SSC I (arts) and Nikhita Sharma, Kamakshi and Rachita of SSC II (arts) won the silver medal. Dilpreet of SSC I (arts) and Shreya Jetlie of SSC II (arts) won the bronze medal. Principal Dr Sareen appreciated the efforts of students and encouraged them to work hard for the fulfilment of their goals. Coordinator Meenakshi Sayal, Prabhjot Kaur and Preeti Babbar of Computer Science and IT department were also present.TNS 

Book published 

Jalandhar: Kamla Nehru College of Education for Women, Chak Hakim, Phagwara released a book titled ‘Effective Teacher Education and Innovative Pedagogy for Changing Demographics of Schools.’ The purpose of releasing this book was to highlight the need for bringing change in existing teaching learning process as with change in time, needs, interests and aspirations of students.
