Class X student hangs himself over poor results

JALANDHAR: A 21-year-old youth, studying in Class X, reportedly hanged himself here last evening from a ceiling fan of his room.

A 21-year-old youth, studying in Class X, reportedly hanged himself here last evening from a ceiling fan of his room. The deceased has been identified as Robin Giri.

Investigation officer SHO Onkar Singh Brar said the reason behind the suicide was suspected to be fear of the board examinations as earlier, he had got a compartment. He was found disturbed recently, said members of this family.

A native of Himachal Pradesh (HP), Robin was residing with his mother and aunt at New Jawahar Nagar in the city. He took the extreme step while he was alone in the house as his mother, who is also not mentally sound, had gone to HP. The body was spotted by his aunt.

When she found the door locked from inside, she got it broken. She also confirmed that he was depressed due to his poor academic results. — TNS
