Some unidentified robbers snatched a scooter and cash worth Rs 1,500 from Gurkamal Singh of Bhularai village on Tuesday night. The victim was returning to his village when some robbers struck him near Daduwal village.  In another incident, unidentified persons snatched a purse containing cash worth Rs 10,000 and valuables from Pooja Rani, a resident of Satnampura, on Tuesday night. The police have registered both cases.

One held for snatching

The police have succeeded in nabbing a snatcher, Husan Lal of Dhak Pandori village and recovered 20 mobile phones from his possession. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Phagwara, Dev Dutt Sharma, told the media on Wednesday that the arrested person had confessed to his involvement in many snatching cases, including snatching of two mobile phones, Rs 12,000 in cash and a pair of gold ear rings from a Lucknow couple in Hargobind Nagar last month. —OC
