Jalandhar: A ‘Garba and Dandiya Raas’ dance party was organised at Nobel School. Kids from pre-nursery to prep came dressed in the traditional ‘Garba’ and ‘Dandiya’ attires. The celebrations commenced with ‘Saraswati Vandana’ presented by the tiny tots. The students enjoyed the mellifluous music and rhythmic beats. The students were apprised of the importance of nine-day festivities. TNS

Khalsa College 1st in swimming 

Jalandhar: Lyallpur Khalsa College has bagged the first rank in swimming in the inter-college competition held at Guru Nanak Dev University(GNDU), Amritsar. College Principal Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra congratulated students, their coach Umesh Kumar, and staff members. The winning players were awarded the trophy by Kanwar Mandeep Singh, Assistant Director, Sports, GNDU, Amritsar. Balbir Kaur, president, Governing Council; Dr Jaspal Singh, HoD, Physical Education; and Dr SS Bains, Dean Sports; congratulated the players for achieving the distinction. TNS

Placement drive

Jalandhar: Decathlon Sports, a French-based organisation, visited KCL Institute of Management and Technology for recruiting MBA students for placement and winter internship. Six students of MBA final year Manmeet Kaur, Manjeet Singh, Ravi Kumar, Manjinderpal Singh, Simranjit Kaur and Karamvir got selected as sales managers and Harjinder Kaur, Inderpal Singh, Ranjana, Manmeet Singh and Gurlovjit Singh of MBA first year got selected as winter interns.
