Jalandhar: International Yoga Day was celebrated at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya under Dr Punam Suri, president, DAV College managing committee, New Delhi. Principal Prof Dr Ajay Sareen told students that regular yoga practice lead to better physical, mental and spiritual health. The students learnt various yoga “asanas”. NSS programme officers Veena Arora and Dr Anjana Bhatia encouraged the students to perform the yoga on a daily basis. Yoga was performed by students of the sports department and NSS under the supervision of DPEs Harmeet and Sukhwinder. TNS 

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya observed International Yoga Day.The event was organised by the departments of NCC and NSS. Around 50 volunteers from NSS and 150 NCC cadets from various schools and colleges and 20 faculty members participated in the event. Manju Arora and Munish Arora from “Yogpath Sansthan”   conducted the session. Brigadier HMS Chatwal, Group Commander, Jalandhar, along with Colonel Jasbir Singh and HMS Chatwal also attended the session. Non-teaching staff members and MTS staff members of KMV also attended the session. Principal Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the endeavour of the organizers. TNS

DAV College 

Jalandhar: 4th International Yoga Day was celebrated on the premises of DAV College, Jalandhar, by NSS and NCC units. Students of Mehr Chand Politechnic College, ITI College, Lala Jagat Narayan DAV Public School, Sai Dass Senior Secondary Public School and DAV College and staff members also participated in the event. Brigadier HMS Chatwal, Group Commander, NCC headquarters, Jalandhar, graced the occasion as the chief guest and Colonel DS Patial, 2 Punjab NCC battalion, Jalandhar, joined as special guest. College principal Dr SK Arora, apprised the students of the importance of the yoga. International Yoga Day began four years ago with the support of more than 140 countries and with the cooperation of the United Nations by the Prime Minister of our country. TNS 

Sanskriti KMV School

Jalandhar: Sanskriti KMV School marked International Yoga Day with enthusiasm, making students and staff an integral part of the event. Principal Rachna Monga said physical fitness should always be the priority for all and yoga was the best way to keep oneself physically and psychologically strong. Students and staff participated in the mass yoga campaign. TNS 

Seth Hukam Chand School

Jalandhar: International Yoga Day was celebrated at Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Senior Secondary School, Sangal Sohal, Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar with fervour, by International Naturopathy Organisation. Students were made aware about the benefits of the yoga. The students performed many “asanas”. Principal Priyanka Sharma said the yoga made people physically and mentally healthy. TNS
