2 motorcycles, intoxicants seized

Phagwara: The Satnampura Police have arrested a drug peddler, Kashish, a resident of Pehchan Nagar, Phagwara, and seized 55 gm of intoxicating powder and two stolen motorcycles from his possession. The  police have registered cases under Sections 379 of the IPC and the NDPS Act against the accused. OC

1 killed, 1 injured in road mishap

Phagwara: A motorcyclist, identified as Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Laminan Mohalla, Phagwara, was killed on the spot while his pillion rider Sumant Kumar, a resident of Mohalla Satkartarian, sustained serious injuries, when a speeding vehicle hit their bike near LPU at Chiheru.  The police have registered a case against the vehicle owner.
