BJP top bosses ask Bhandhari to iron out differences in local unit

The BJP high command while taking serious note of the increasing factionalism at several places of the state, between Union Minister of State Vijay Sampla and BJP MLA Som Parkash, in Phagwara the BJP has assigned the task to bring Vijay Sampla and Som Parkash under one platform to former Punjab BJP president Rajinder Bhandhari.

It was reliably learnt that Parkash is too interested to contest the Lok Sabha elections, but on the initiative of the BJP High Command, BJP leader Rajinder Bhandhari visited Phagwara and hold a closed-door meeting at a hotel on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by both Sampla and Som Parkash; besides district BJP president Purshotam Passi; General Secretary Chetan Suri; state secretary Dayal Singh Sodhi; Block BJP president Paramjit Singh Pamma; Panchhat unit president Amrit Pal; Chachoki unit president Ranjit Pandhwa; Mayor Arun Khosla; a loyalist of Som Parkash, also attended the meeting.

It has been reliably learnt that efforts were made to bring Sampla and Som Parkash together. It was decided to hold another meeting in Phagwara on November 10, in which all office-bearers of block and district, besides BJP councillors would participate.
