ASI opens fire in the air

JALANDHAR: An ASI posted at the division 1 police station today reportedly opened fire after having an argument with his son.

An ASI posted at the division 1 police station today reportedly opened fire after having an argument with his son.

SHO, Division 1 police station, Sukhbir Singh, said the ASI had been absconding. The incident occurred at 5.30 pm.

SHO Division 8 Rupinder Singh said an FIR had been registerd under Section 336 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC. “Amrit Pal, a tea seller in the area, filed a complaint in this regard,” the SHO said, adding that the ASI was reportedly in depression for the past few days.
