Anti-drug campaign

Jalandhar: Four branches of Innocent Hearts School organised various competitions under state government’s anti-drug campaign. Students of Classes VI to XII were part of ‘inter-buddy groups’. Each group had five students with one captain. A senior buddy — a teacher — looked after 10 groups and helped organise the competitions. The students participated in extempore, slogan-writing, poster-making and group discussions. The groups work together to give the best performance. The aim of the campaign is to create awareness among students about the ill-effects of drugs. Director Principal Dheeraj Banati lauded the efforts of the government and told the students to make their contribution. TNS

Placement drive

Jalandhar: The placement cell of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organised an in-campus placement drive under the supervision of principal Dr Ajay Sareen. Concentrix participated in the drive that received an overwhelming response. Ankita from Concentrix conducted the placement drive. She told students that Concentrix was a business service company, which was a subsidiary of Synnex Corporation. The salary package varies according to location. In Gurgaon, salary packages are Rs 2,10,000 to Rs 2,80,000, whereas in Chandigarh, these range between Rs 1,80,000 and Rs 2,40,000. As many as 70 final-year students of different degree courses participated in the drive. The rigorous selection process included an interview, multiple choice questions, telephone round and passage writing. Finally, 38 candidates were selected. Students said the college had provided an excellent platform to explore good career opportunities. Principal Dr Sareen appreciated the efforts of the placement cell. Karate certificates 

Jalandhar: As many as 24 students of State Public School, Jalandhar Cantonment, got Yellow Belt and Kyu Belt certificates. President of the school Dr Narotam Singh, vice-president Dr Gagandeep Kaur and principal Savina Bahl congratulated the students for getting the certificates. TNS

Gurdeep tops semester 

Jalandhar: Gurdeep Kaur, a student of MA Fine Arts at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, bagged the first position in the semester 1 exams with 314 marks of 400. Kirti bagged the second position with 306 marks. Principal Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the students on their success. He said the declaration of results under the autonomy was for the benefit of students. She said degrees would be awarded by Guru Nanak Dev University. TNS
