Another dengue death was reported in Kapurthala today. This time a 36-year-old woman was the victim of the deadly disease. Kuljinder Kaur, a resident of Mohalla Kaimpura, had been reporting high fever and was taken to a private hospital in Kapurthala.

Later, her condition deteriorated and she was taken to a hospital in Jalandhar. Her condition worsened and she died today during treatment.

Meanwhile, Punjab Health Minister Brahm Mahindra and Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu are expected to appear in the permanent lok adalat today after they were issued summons by court. The NGOs and other resident welfare associations are planning to gherao the two ministers and the

officials accompanying them for their inability to tackle the situation in the district which has reported the highest number of dengue cases in the state after Mohali.

Many NGOs have also distributed pamphlets urging people to gather in large number outside the permanent lok adalat complex for the hearing. — TNS
