Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) leader Jarnail Nangal has threatened to re-launch a stir from Friday if several colleges and a university did not allow Dalit students from a poor background to appear in the exams under post-matric scholarship immediately.

Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, Nangal announced to hold a dharna before the office of the Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM), Phagwara, from Friday, which would continue till their demands are met.

Nangal said a delegation of Dalit B.Ed students of Ramgarhia College, led by him, met the Naib Tehsildar Swapandeep Kaur and submitted a memorandum. They had already submitted a memorandum to the SDM, Phagwara, Dr Sumit Mudh, but his behaviour was not supportive.

Nangal alleged that most educational institutions were denying admission and demanding fee. He said the stir will be intensified if the administration does not instruct these institutions soon.
