ADC conducts surprise check, 64 found absent

ADC Sandhu said Naib Tehsildar Manbir Singh Dhillon, Executive Officer Improvement Trust Surinder Kumari, Senior Vet Officer Pardeep Kumar Goyal , Assistant Director of Factories Gurmit Gurjant Singh, Dr Sukhdep Singh Baghbani, Officer, AFSO, Jagmohan Singh, Shivjit, Grade-I in Food and Supplies Office, Suwidha Centre incharge Manish Kumar, SDO Raj Kumar, Secretary of the Market Committee Mukesh Kumar, Superintendent Pawan Kumar, Accountant Santokh Singh, JE Prashant Kumar, Building Inspector Pardeep Sehgal, Fire Brigade Officer Tarlochan Singh and SDO Mahinder Singh were in the list of absentees.

‘Maintain peace and communal harmony’

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Minority Cell chairman Dilbar Mohammad Khan visited Jamaa Masjid in Phagwara and met local Muslims leaders to assess the situation after communal violence in the area. Khan appealed to Muslim community to maintain peace and communal harmony in the town. He demanded immediate arrests of the culprits responsible for hurting the religious sentiments of minority community. Meanwhile, ADC Iqbal Singh Sandhu recorded statements of the representatives of Shiv Sena, Muslim community, Three SHOs, suspended DSP Kanwalpreet Singh Chahal and transferred SP Arjinder Singh. The statements of Sikh hardliners were still pending.—OC
