Academician bereaved, cremation to be held today

JALANDHAR: Yash Vati Kapoor, mother of Dr Satish K Kapoor, former Principal, Lyallpur Khalsa College and former Registrar, DAV University, passed away today.

Yash Vati Kapoor, mother of Dr Satish K Kapoor, former Principal, Lyallpur Khalsa College and former Registrar, DAV University, passed away today. She was 96.

Wife of Lala Gurdas Ram Kapoor, noted freedom fighter and social activist, Yash Vati’s brother Krishan Lal was a tutor to Yuvraj Karan Singh.

Her father-in-law, Lala Pirthi Raj Kapoor had been the District Congress president of Kapurthala.

Her cremation will take place on Tuesday at 4 pm at Harnamdaspura crematorium in Jalandhar City. —TNS
