600 participate in GU sports meet

JALANDHAR: The faculty of physical education and sports of GNA University organised a two-day 4th GU Sports Meet (men and women) 2019.

Jalandhar, March 25

The faculty of physical education and sports of GNA University organised a two-day 4th GU Sports Meet (men and women) 2019. The meet was inaugurated by Dr VK Rattan, vice- chancellor of the University.

As many as 600 students from various faculties of the university participated in the event. The faculty of engineering design and automation secured the first position in overall events (track, field and sports). GNA Business School clinched the second position in the overall events. The faculty of hospitality remained third.

The best athlete award was bagged by Chandan Panday, a student of faculty of computational science. The best women athlete award was bagged by Priyanka, a student of GNA Business School. Gurdeep Singh, pro-chancellor GNA University was present at the closing ceremony.

Dr Mohammad Salim Javed, Associate Prof-cum-Deputy Dean of Physical Education and Sports, acknowledged the participation of the sportspersons.
