1-yr RI for drug-peddler

The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge RK Khullar convicted an accused in narcotics smuggling and sentenced him to one-year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him. If the penalty is not given by him, the convict would have to under go an additional imprisonment of one month.

ASI Ajit Singh of the Haryana Police and a police party had put up a naka near Kailo village bridge on March 10, 2015. Here, a person riding a bike was stopped on the basis of suspicion. While the police stopped him and searched him, it found 100 gm of intoxicant powder from him. The police said his name was Gurpinder Singh. The police had arrested him and filed a case under the NDPS Act against him.
