The Bharatiya Janata Party has termed the ‘Referendum 2020’ as a futile exercise by desperate group of radicals, who have no support from Punjabi diaspora.

Tarun Chugh, national secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, on Monday said the idea of Referendum 2020 was an anti-national proposal designed to disturb the communal harmony among Punjabis living in and outside Punjab.

He said,“ ‘Sikhs for Justice (SFJ)’ mastermind Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, was following the commands of the ISI.

Tarun Chugh said the Union Government’s commitment to protect sovereignty and integrity of the country, vigilant network of central intelligence agencies and the Punjab Police were equipped to fight the conspiracy against the country.”

Chug also appealed to the Punjabis to maintain peace and rise above the political and religious lines to thwart the nefarious attempts of disruptive forces nand maintain harmony in the country.
