‘Daana Paani’, a movie set to take Punjabi cinema to new heights

After “Rabb da radio”, the most talked about duo of Punjabi Film Industry, Jassal Grewal and Tarnvir Jagpal are ready to highlight another hard core social issue, through their movie “Daana Paani”.

Undoubtedly, the Punjabi film industry is proceeding to achieve new heights with the movies based on different genres. Though the Punjabi cinema is stereotyped for presenting comedy movies with beautiful punches and jokes but the brigade of young directors and writers are trying to bring a revolution in the industry by hitting predominantly the social issues with a satirical twist.

Similar is the storyline of this upcoming movie “Dana Pani”, which is made under the banners of Nanokey Studios and GK Entertainment Inc. The director Tarnvir Singh Jagpal ( 27) said, “Sometimes a fiction story is portrayed in such a beautiful manner that it seems like a reality.” The movie would also indicate how destiny sets your path and one would definitely visit the places that he is destined to.

While talking to “The Tribune” the lead Actor, Jimmy Shergill said this film was surely going to leave a mark in the Punjabi cinema and would take Punjabi cinema to next level. He also said it was a unique script and was a real example of beautiful cinema that has bundles of entertainment for all age groups, he added. His character in the film seems to be quite intense in the trailers. This has proven to be yet another platform for him to show his real self. The lead actress, Simi Chahal added, “This film actually carries a good story line. I am very happy to be associated with this project. I am looking forward to something good in the Punjabi cinema.”

The producers, Ranbir Singh Grewal, Jass Grewal, Gurpartap Singh Gill, Gagandeep Singh Dhaliwal and Parvinder Singh Chahal, expressed that the story of the film carries an interesting concept and they are happy to work with Jass Grewal & Tarnvir Jagpal.
