TEQIP-III-sponsored week-long workshop on the role of soft skills in classroom management concluded at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra. The workshop attracted participation from faculty members of various institutions. Prof Ravindra Kumar Sinha, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Other dignitaries who attended the valedictory session were Prof VK Bhat, Registrar, SMVDU; Prof Rajneesh Arora, Director, EFL University, Lucknow Campus; and Anil K Tewari, Head, School of Philosophy and Culture, SMVDU. regarding amendments in the recruitment rule.
Lecturers’ delegation meets Adviser
A delegation of In-charge School Education Officers and Lecturers Forum led by Amar Nath Thakur called on Governor's Adviser Farooq Khan and submitted a memorandum of demands regarding confirmation /regularisation of 8,000 in charge officers (Joint Director, CEOs, Principals, ZEOs, Lecturers and Headmasters). The delegation said all in charge officers had not been regularised since 2007 till date.
Calligraphy competition
A Junior Calligraphy Competition was held at Lawrence Public School, Panjtirthi, under the aegis of the Youth Talent Search Forum. Students from nine reputed schools of Jammu participated in the competition. The competition started after paying tributes to the founder member of Youth Talent Search Forum, Shakuntla Joshi, who was also founder principal of the school. The competition was held in two categories: English and Hindi. It was adjudged by Krishna Gupta, Jyoti Bali and Neelam Khajuria. Merit certificates were distributed to the winners by Wg Cdr MM Joshi, chairman, Lawrence Public School.
