The National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) on Sunday demanded the release of the Seventh Pay Commission arrears in one go to the pensioners of the age group of 80 years and above.

“This is the need of the hour that the discriminatory revision should be reexamined to give similar treatment to all pensioners,” said Subash Shastri, NMC president, while addressing a workers’ meet at Gandhi Nagar on Sunday.

Appreciating the sharp decision-making policies and delivery of services to the common man for the last three weeks, Shastri described the Governor’s administration as public-friendly in which bold and quick decisions had been taken, including addressing of 21 years of pay anomalies of clerical cadre and institution of fast-track disposal of regularisation of 61,000 daily earners by the high power committee, etc.

Describing Governor NN Vohra as an upright learned and strong administrator, Shastri hoped the pending issues pertaining to salaried/working classes would be sorted out without any delay. He said the state should learn a lesson from the working of the present Governor regime.

Though some corporations are viable at present and some are facing financial crisis but the employees working there also need sympathetic consideration in extending the benefits of the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations, the NMC chief added.
