Valley hotelier awarded

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Kanyakumari Foundation, Mumbai, has awarded Mushtaq Ahmed Chaya, a well-known hotelier and the chairman of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Kashmir, for his contribution to the tourism sector.

The Kashmir Kanyakumari Foundation, Mumbai, has awarded Mushtaq Ahmed Chaya, a well-known hotelier and the chairman of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Kashmir, for his contribution to the tourism sector.

A PHDCCI statement issued here on Monday said Chaya received the Business Leadership Award during the Business Leadership Summit of the foundation held on Sunday.

The award was conferred on him by Mubarak Gul, former speaker of the J&K Legislative Assembly.

Gul, who was the chief guest at the event, appreciated Chaya and said he had done a commendable job by keeping the tourism of J&K relevant in these troubled times.

Chaya said, “I am deeply honoured to receive this prestigious award. This recognition belongs to every person of my state who has worked relentlessly in building a globally admired brand of Mushtaq Group of Hotels and Resorts. This is just the beginning and we look forward to unleashing the vast tourism potential of India.”

He said the people of Kashmir had “always and will always go out of the way to make sure visitors are safe”. — TNS
