The yatra to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine located in Trikuta Hills was partially suspended on Monday following a landslide on the Himkoti track.

The battery car service has been stopped for the time being. The helicopter service has also been suspended due to bad weather. However, the pilgrimage is continuing through the traditional track.

Reasi DC P Ramaswamy G said a landslide had occurred near Himkoti on the new track to the shrine. No injuries to any of the pilgrims had been reported and the yatra was on through the traditional track, he added.

On July 15, a landslide in Sihar Baba waterfall near Reasi district killed seven people and injured 33 others. — OC
