Amritsar, June 16

The Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Saturday did not exchange sweets on the occasion of Eid with the Pakistan Rangers in view of simmering tension between the two countries after ceasefire violations in the Jammu region.

The exchange of sweet between the two forces is a usual trend on special occasions, such as Eid and Diwali.

Pakistani rangers showed interest in going ahead with the ritual, but the BSF was in a denial mode.

Tension gripped the border areas after an incident in Samba region, where four BSF personnel were killed in Pakistan firing on Saturday. Agencies
