Sharma meets ex-militants, other groups

SRINAGAR: On the second consecutive day, Centre’s special representative for Jammu and Kashmir Dineshwar Sharma met a dozen delegations and individuals representing various sections of society.

On the second consecutive day, Centre’s special representative for Jammu and Kashmir Dineshwar Sharma met a dozen delegations and individuals representing various sections of society. The delegations apprised him of their problems.

Those who met the representative today included a few organisations of former militants who put forth their grievances before him. During his visits to the state, Sharma has been interacting with representatives of all sections of society, political leaders, legislators and top officials. He has also held a number of meetings with Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on his earlier visits. Those who met Sharma here today included a five-member delegation of the RTI Movement, led by Raja Muzaffar Bhat, two-member delegation of Sultan Agro Tech led by Fayaz Ahmad, two-member delegation of the Centre for Youth Development, led by Imtiyaz Rashid Chisti, four-member delegation of the Human Welfare Association of former militants led by Saifullah Farooq, two doctors (local) from the CRPF, four members of the Police Retired Officers Association (non-gazetted) led by Ghulam Hassan Zargar, Flood Hit (2016) Shopkeepers Association and Sehar Organisation. — TNS
