Srinagar, March 10

Bureaucrat-turned-politician Shah Faesal on Sunday said he would announce the name of his new political party later this week while appealing to youth to join his ‘new vision’.

“I am forming a new party due to the demand from youth. I had never imagined I would form a party but a large number of youth came to my office daily and wanted that a new platform should be created. I will announce the structure of my party this week. If the youth like our vision, they should join us,” Faesal said in a live Facebook interaction with his followers.

The interaction received over 7,000 comments. Faesal took a host of questions from the followers and also received suggestions regarding the party’s name and symbol.

He said his party would give preference to new faces but also said he was in touch with former MLAs. “I will try for new people but some (former legislators) have conscience. I am in touch with them. We will have members that have no question marks on their character. We will work with clean people,” he said.

Faesal batted for the resolution of the Kashmir issue while adding that economic packages were not going to resolve it.
