School holds investiture ceremony

The event was presided over by the chairperson, Supinder Kaur, managing director, Raghav Gupta, and director, academics, Dr Atul Hans. It was conducted with earnestness and passion. The ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office- bearers. 

Plantation drive at Ramisht college 

The NSS unit of Ramisht College of Education, Basohli, organised a plantation drive. The college staff and students of BEd course (semester 3) took part in the drive. The purpose was to create awareness among the students about environment protection. The Centre and state governments have also launched many programmes for the conservation of environment in which the college has taken active part. More such programmes will be organised in future.

Inter-house singing competition  

The inter-house group song competition was held at Army Public School, primary wing, Udhampur. It was inaugurated by Headmistress Sapana Naugan. Class I, II and III children participated in the event. The competition received overwhelming response from all four houses Beas, Chenab, Jhelum and Ravi. Ravi House was declared the winner of the competition. 

Sports coaches win silver in Bhutan

Balbir Singh and Sumit Sharma, sports coach, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), bagged silver medal in the South Asian Yoga Championship in Bhutan. The duo secured second position in the South Asian Yoga Championship in the 31-39 and 24-30 age group. During the championship, around 40 participants from different countries took part, chiefly from India, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, Prof (Dr) Ravindra Kumar Sinha, congratulated the staff members and wished them success ahead. 

DPS investiture ceremony

Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu, held its 21st investiture ceremony “Sankalp se Natritv ki Aur” 2019-20. Sushma Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, was the chief guest on the occasion, while SS Sodhi, director, DPS, Jammu, was the guest of honour. The event was attended by nearly 4,500 students and 300 teachers from middle and senior wings of the school. All dignitaries, escorted by NCC cadets and girls pipe band, were accorded a formal welcome. Principal, DPS, Jammu, Ruchi Chabra, also spoke on the occasion. Sodhi, also gave his valuable comments.
