Jammu, August 26

Passengers travelling from the Jammu airport will soon experience the comfort of aerobridges. Three aerobridges are set to be operational soon after the safety clearance.

The Jammu airport is among the few airports of the country which did not have aerobridges. The aerobridges are part of the airport upgrade undertaken by the Airports Authority of India.

“Three aerobridges have been installed at the airport. We are waiting for the safety clearance, which will be done within a week,” said DK Gautam, Director, Jammu airport.

“A team of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation is likely to visit the airport for safety clearance. After the clearance, the aerobridges will be thrown open to passengers,” he added.

Officials said the three aerobridges would cater to all flights at the Jammu airport, which had been ranked the 27th busiest airport in the country. It caters to more than 4,000 passengers on a daily basis.
