Panthers Party protests govt ‘inaction’ against illegal immigrants

Expressing resentment over the incidents of purchase of immovable property by Rohingyas and Bangladesh nationals in and around Jammu and Samba districts, the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today staged a protest against the ruling PDP-BJP government over its ‘failure’ to evict illegal immigrants.

Party activists led by chairman Harsh Dev Singh and Yash Paul Kundal, state president, Young Panthers, raised slogans like ‘Rohingyas quit Jammu’ and ‘Bangladeshis go back’.

In his address, Harsh Dev said foreign immigrants had allegedly been settled in clusters on the outskirts of Jammu city and Samba by several NGOs and madrassas as per the disclosures made by the state government.

“In a recent development, a group of Rohingyas and Bangladesh nationals have reportedly managed to buy land on the outskirts of Jammu city besides raising construction on lands ofthe Jammu Development Authority by procuring permanent resident certificates, Aadhaar cards and ration cards. This points to a larger conspiracy behind their settlement in the Dogra land,” he alleged.

Harsh Dev Singh asked the BJP to take serious cognisance of the alleged security threat posed by the ‘immigrants’ in the wake of recent terror attacks in the state and urged the Union Home Ministry to ensure their deportation to the native countries without any further delay.
