Northern Command Chief visits Poonch, Akhnoor

JAMMU: Northern Command Chief Lt Gen Ranbir Singh on Friday visited forward bases in Poonch and Akhnoor sectors to review the operational preparedness in the light of the prevalent security situation.

Northern Command Chief Lt Gen Ranbir Singh on Friday visited forward bases in Poonch and Akhnoor sectors to review the operational preparedness in the light of the prevalent security situation. He was accompanied by White Knight Corps Commander Lt Gen Paramjit Singh Sangha.

Lt Gen Ranbir Singh expressed satisfaction on measures adopted to strengthen counter-infiltration posture with increased alertness and use of high-end technology. He also appreciated the aggressive domination of Line of Control adopted to give befitting response to ceasefire violations and tactical actions.

He exhorted all ranks on the need to remain vigilant to counter the nefarious designs of the adversary and directed that response should be strong and effective. The Army Commander appreciated the preparedness and morale of all soldiers.

He interacted with the soldiers and complimented them for their dedication to duty, devotion and high-standard of professionalism. He was appreciative of the standard operating procedures instituted by the units.
