NHM director reviews facilities for pregnant women

Bhupinder Kumar, director, National Health Mission (NHM), J&K, on Thursday visited Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar.

The director was briefed about the implementation status of the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan and the free entitlements being provided to pregnant women under the scheme.

Bhupinder Kumar appreciated the efforts of the staff and advised them to prepare the line list of high-risk pregnant women so that they could be tracked till their delivery. He emphasised providing quality services to the beneficiaries and upkeep of records and data.

Earlier, it was informed that with an objective to provide quality and specialised antenatal check-up to every pregnant woman, the treatment is provided on the ninth day of every month across the state in the designated 134 health facilities.

The mission director also visited the Community Health Centre, Bishnah and RS Pura, to monitor the Centrally sponsored scheme.
