Jammu, October 14

Asserting that J&K is core of India, former Union minister Chaman Lal Gupta observed that any differential treatment to any part of the country under communal considerations runs counter to the basic principal of Constitution.

Interacting with a delegation from Gujarat, Gupta said J&K was created as a ‘fiefdom for the benefits of a few families’ in 1947. He praised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led dispensation at the Centre for taking the historic step for abrogation of special status of the state. — TNS
