The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) today approved 106 cases and sanctioned Rs 17.5-lakh relief for the affected persons here at a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sushma Chauhan.

Present in the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sub-District Magistrates, Assistant Commissioner, Tehsildars, besides senior officers of the department concerned.

A total of 106 cases of compensation of Bhalwal, Dansal, Jammu South, Jourian, Akhnoor, Marh, Pargwal and Nagrota tehsils for houses and crops besides livestock lost in border shelling, floods and other natural calamities covered under State Disaster Respond Fund (SDRF) norms were taken up for discussion. — TNS
