Militant hideout busted in Doda

The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the police and 4 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) on Monday busted a militant hideout in a forest area of Gandoh.

Giving details, the police said that acting on a specific input, the SOG and Army launched a joint operation in the forest area of Gandoh and recovered arms and ammunition.

“The ammunition recovered included 11 magazines of AK-47, 581 rounds of AK-47, four Motorola sets, eight RPG rounds, five SLR magazines, one pistol magazine, one UBGL barrel, one Chinese pistol, 188 rounds of other ammunition, one battery and one charger,” said Ravinder Pal Singh, Superintendent of Police (Operations), Doda. “The recovery of arms and ammunition is another shot in the arm of security forces,” he added.
