Bandipora lecturer suspended on charge of molestation

A higher secondary school lecturer was suspended after a girl accused him of molestation in the school premises in Bandipora.

The Chief Education Officer (CEO) has, meanwhile, constituted an inquiry team to probe the allegations.

On Wednesday, the parents of the student complained to the CEO that a lecturer molested their daughter.

“I received a complaint from the parents, who were accompanying the girl that she was molested by a teacher,” CEO Bandipora Javid Iqbal said. “We set up an inquiry committee, suspended the teacher and attached him with my office.”

An official said the parents had claimed said the teacher of political science  told the student to sweep her room.

When the girl was sweeping the room, he closed the room and molested her. The student, somehow, escaped  and ran home. — TNS
