SRINAGAR: The nomination papers of four independent candidates out of 14 were rejected on several grounds during the scrutiny of the papers by the Returning Officer, GN Ittoo, for the Baramulla constituency today.

The nomination papers of four independent candidates out of 14 were rejected on several grounds during the scrutiny of the papers by the Returning Officer, GN Ittoo, for the Baramulla constituency today.

They included Ab Majeed Bhat, Syed Muzaffar Ali, Mohammad Abdullah Chatwal and Syed Aamir Sohail. Election Observers Gamli Padu, P Shakil Ahmad and Ambrish Kumar and representatives of various candidates were present on the occasion.

The papers of Raja Aijaz Ali (PC), Abdul Qayoom Wani (PDP), Mohammad Akbar Lone (NC), Maqbool War (BJP) Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir (Congress) among those accepted. — TNS
