100 artistes take part in ‘Rang Utsav’

JAMMU: Kicking off cultural festivities for winter, the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organised a show ‘Rang Utsav’ on Monday.

Kicking off cultural festivities for winter, the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organised a show ‘Rang Utsav’ on Monday.

More than 100 artistes representing different performing arts, like dance, music and traditional folk forms, took part in the cultural and musical show.

Besides mesmerising stage performances, the folk art was also presented on the lawns of Abhinav theatre. A large number of art lovers were present and encouraged the artistes.

Sourabh Bhagat, Commissioner-Secretary, labour and employment department; Rigzin Samphel, Secretary, Tourism; and Rafeeq Masoodi, former secretary, JKAACL, were present on the occasion.

While welcoming the guests, JKAACL secretary Aziz Hajini said during the winter, the Jammu region would host various cultural festivities.

He said a 22-day-long Jammu Theatre Festival would be organised at Abhinav theatre. It would involve 400 artistes who are working in Jammu for threatre promotion. —TNS
