Amid political uncertainty, former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday warned New Delhi, saying any attempt to "break the PDP will have serious repercussions".
She was talking to reporters in Srinagar.
"If New Delhi tries to intervene, it will increase troubles in the Valley. If they do like in 1987, which gave birth to Salahuddin and Yasin Malik, the outcomes will be dangerous,” said Mehbooba, adding that "Any attempt to break the PDP will have serious repercussions.”
There are speculations that Delhi was trying to stitch a government by wooing the PDP rebels.
At least six PDP leaders have spoken against the Mehbooba Mufti after the fall of the government. However, Mehbooba has tried to reach to the dissident party leaders.
