Lunch treat for destitute kids

JAMMU: The Srishti Mahila Samiti, a forum for women employees and relatives of employees of the regional headquarters of the PowerGrid, Northern Region, Transmission System-II — on Friday visited Balgran — a home for destitute children at Channi Rama here.

The Srishti Mahila Samiti, a forum for women employees and relatives of employees of the regional headquarters of the PowerGrid, Northern Region, Transmission System-II — on Friday visited Balgran — a home for destitute children at Channi Rama here.

Members of the Samiti along with chief patron Radha Rajput, president Supreet Luthra and general secretary Shitanshu Sharma sponsored a lunch and distributed school bags and hygiene kits among the children of Balgran.

Executive members of the Samiti Kalpana Poonam, Supriya, Sangeeta and Ruby were also present at the event. They interacted with children and engaged them in recreational activities.

The Srishti Mahila Samiti encourages social activities such as vocational training and education for women and children. It also organises programmes and provides aid to disabled children of employees and the community in general. It is also involved in imparting skills such as tailoring, embroidery, knitting, cooking, dance, interior decoration, music classes and other fine arts. — TNS
