Kids learn life, leadership skills

A three-day leadership and life skills workshop organised by the National Development Foundation (NDF) at Jammu in collaboration the ICPS Directorate in the support of the European Union concluded on Saturday.

Jugal Kishore, MP from Jammu-Poonch constituency, was the chief guest. As many as 30 children groups of Jammu, Samba and Poonch participated in the workshop.

National Development Foundation founder Rajiv Khajuria gave a brief introduction of the workshop and informed that children were being introduced to leadership and decision-making.

Khajuria said the children also worked as brand ambassadors in their respective villages, identified the child protection issues and addressed them in different ways.

Jugal Kishore assured the children that he would look into the charter of demands presented by them and issue instructions to the departments concerned for their redress.

Suran Singh, SP (Rural), Jammu, gave a detailed lecture on drug abuse and the role of children, civil society and panchayats to curb it.
