J&K cop wins gold at Canada tournament

JAMMU: Bimal Indu (in pic), an inspector in the Jammu and Kashmir Police, has made his home state and department proud by winning a gold medal in the Commonwealth Powerlifting and Bench Press Championship in Canada.

Bimal Indu, an inspector in the Jammu and Kashmir Police, has made his home state and department proud by winning a gold medal in the Commonwealth Powerlifting and Bench Press Championship in Canada.

The event was organised at St John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, between September 15 and 21.

Indu is presently posted as a Station House Officer at Nawabad and he won the gold medal in the bench press event in the Master 2 category. In the championship, five players, including two each from Australia, Canada and one from India participated.
