Jammu: J&K Bank on Friday gave a warm send-off to its senior officer Nishi Baru, who retired as president after serving the bank in different capacities for three-and-a-half decades. The farewell was attended by Parvez Ahmed, chairman and CEO, and Vagesh Chander, executive president. Presidents PK Tikoo and Abdul Rashid Shegan, along with vice-presidents and other senior officers were also present on the occasion. Baru was presiding over the bank's supervision and control department. The chairman commended Baru's honesty, dedication and soft demeanour throughout her career. "Baru is probably the second woman in the state to have joined J&K Bank as a probationary officer and the second lady officer to have made it to the top management of the bank after Mira Jamwal. Her journey in the bank is truly inspirational," said Ahmed. In her address, Baru said, "I thank all my colleagues for their kindness and the support they extended throughout my career." She urged the leadership of the bank to focus on staff training. TNS
