Jammu, September 2

The team of Prerna Gupta and S Prakkalya of Heritage School, Sainik Colony, Jammu, on Monday won the Jammu City Round of the seventh edition of CCCC Cryptic Crossword Contest.

The team of Aneesh Sharma and Immanuel Whitefield of KC International School, Jammu, won the runners-up trophy.

The team from Heritage School has qualified for the grand finale to be held at New Delhi towards the year-end. The winner of the grand finale will lift the National Crossword Champions trophy.

Popularly called the CCCC, this annual national-level inter-school contest comprises two phases. In the first phase, city rounds are held across the country where schools from the respective cities and their vicinity send a team of two students each to the contest’s venue. The teams sit through an hour-long puzzle-solving written test.

In the second phase, the winning teams from all city rounds gather at the national capital to participate in the grand finale.

The contest is open to students of Class IX to XII of schools affiliated to any of the recognised boards of school education in India.
