Jammu, October 19

Continuing their agitation for delinking their wages from the Central funding, female multipurpose health workers have decided to intensify their stir after the Durbar move in November.

On Friday, the J&K National Panthers Party headed by chairman Harsh Dev Singh extended support to the workers and joined their protest.

He expressed concern over the non-release of the salaries of female multipurpose health workers of the Jammu region for months. “The state administration should take a decision to delink the salaries of the health workers from the Central source of funding and release it every month on a regular basis like other employees of the health department,” Harsh Dev said.

Meanwhile, the workers protesting for the last 54 days have not received their salaries for the past over six months.

“The administration is promoting gender bias. At a time when male health workers receive their salaries on a regular basis, female workers are being denied regular wages,” said Rajni Devi, a worker.
