CRPF jawans save girl from drowning in J&K’s Baramulla; watch video

SRINGAR: The CRPF on Monday rescued a 14-year-old girl while was being swept away in a nullah in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The CRPF on Monday rescued a 14-year-old girl while was being swept away in a nullah in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A spokesperson said a company of CRPF was doing area domination of the place as usual when all of a sudden there was a cry for help. To the shock of the force personnel who were doing duty, a girl was being swept away by the tides.

“Showing great presence of mind and courage of highest order and risking their lives, jawans M.G. Naidu and N. Upendra jumped to rescue the girl. Soon others came to help and formed a human chain to rescue the girl who was later identified as Nageena of Chanpora Kunzer, Baramulla,” the spokesperson added.

The CRPF DG has awarded DG's Commendation disc and certificate to the two jawans for their selfless devotion to duty and exemplary act of saving the life of the girl.
