Jammu, September 10

Senior National Conference (NC) leader Ajay Sadhotra on Tuesday said the economy of the state would further slowdown after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A.

“The economy of our country has already slowed down and it has affected our state also as so many youth have lost jobs. The abrogation of Article 370 and 35A has led to further slowdown of the state economy,” Sadhotra stated in a handout issued.

He said post abrogation, trade and industry had been badly hit, production had come down and payments of traders and industries had been blocked. The state’s economy had dipped since the lockdown, restrictions and shutdown of communication.

Sadhotra said Jammu & Kashmir had integrated business relations. “The BJP government should give financial package to the trade and industry of the state in order to save them,” he demanded. He claimed that in the absence of financial package, youth of Jammu and Kashmir would lose lobs and trade and industry would become sick. “First local industry should be strengthened and then think of investors from outside. Ignoring local trade and industry will lead to further slowing down of the economy of the state and will lead to economic crisis,” he added.
