9 youths held for stone-throwing

ANANTNAG: Nine youths were detained in raids late on Monday night from Pulwama district in connection with their alleged role in stone-throwing.

Nine youths were detained in raids late on Monday night from Pulwama district in connection with their alleged role in stone-throwing.

Sources said the raids were conducted by security forces in Arigam and Arihal villages. During the raids, eight youths were held from Arigam and one from Arihal.

A senior police officer confirmed that the arrests were made in the area. “They are being questioned for their role in stone-throwingincidents.”

Meanwhile, an anti-militancy operation, launched in Sugan village of Shopian, was called off after nomilitants was found. — OC
