Jammu, April 15

As many as 4,000 candidates belonging to various categories and states applied for admission at Sainik School, Nagrota.

The All-India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination was conducted at the school on Sunday. This was a qualifying examination for admitting cadets in Classes VI and IX for the academic session 2018-19.

This year’s examination witnessed over 137 per cent rise in the number of candidates compared to previous years. The quantum jump in the number of aspirants this year has been mainly due to the introduction of online registration and OMR-based answer sheets by the Sainik Schools Society which is the governing body of 27 Sainik Schools located in different states of India.
