2 militants who attacked SSB men in Banihal arrested

JAMMU: Army and police have arrested two militants who had recently attacked SSB men in Banihal. Army claims to have recovered two weapons from their possession.

Army and police have arrested two militants who had recently attacked Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) men in Banihal. Army claims to have recovered two weapons from their possession.                       

According to the official statement from 16 Corps of Army, the Army and J&K Police, in a swift joint operation, apprehended Gajnafar and Arif, involved in the attack at SSB personnel on September 20.

An AK rifle and an Insas rifle, which were snatched during the attack, were also recovered from them.

Gajnafar, resident of Kaskote, and Arif, resident of Ashaar, Banihal, had been recruited to foment terror in the Chenab valley region. The duo, along with Aquib Wahid, resident of Kaskote, was involved in the crime in which an SSB personnel was killed and another critically injured.

The two have been handed over to the police and hunt for Aquib is on.
