Woman, minor son arrested for murder

The police on Tuesday arrested a woman and her minor son for allegedly killing a 34-year-old woman, identified as Bhawana (34) of Kalheli village in Bhuntar subdivision. Her body was found in an under-construction building at the village on July 5.

Kullu SP Shalini Agnihotri said the accused had been identified as Meena and her minor son.

Meena has confessed to the crime. During interrogation, she told the police that her minor son had illicit relations with Bhawana for the past two years. She found them in a compromising position at an under-construction building, and in a fit of rage she attacked Bhawana with a brick and a sickle. She died on the spot.

Meena has been remanded in custody till July 13 while her minor son will be produced before the Juvenile Board. Further investigations are underway.
