Woman ends life; 2 arrested

The Indora police have arrested the mother-in-law and brother-in-law of a woman, who reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan on Saturday.

The victim has been identified as Sheela Devi (27) of Matholi village and the accused have been identified as Raj Kumari (mother-in-law) and Satish Kumar (brother-in-law).

Nurpur DSP Navdeep Singh, who visited the spot, said following the complaint of Prabhat Singh, the brother of the deceased woman, the police have registered an FIR under Section 306 of the IPC against three persons for abetting her to commit suicide.

The police after taking the possession of the body conducted the postmortem at Tanda Medical College, Kangra.

The victim was living with her husband and had some altercation with her in-laws on Saturday over felling of trees. After this she committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan. She was rushed to the local Community Health Centre, where she was declared brought dead.
